Bee colony safely removed & relocated as a safety precaution due to close proximity of a childrens play area. The outside comb usually contains honey with the inner sections of comb containing the brighter coloured pollen and brood (baby bees)
Honey bee waggle dance | Strand, Helderberg
Look for the worker bee performing the waggle dance to her fellow foraging bees. The duration of the waggle dance and the direction she rotates in relation to the sun provides an accurate descriptioon where the pollen or nector can be found.
Capensis worker honey bee | Scarborough, Cape Point
If you find one of these little ladies, bee kind to her. Worker bees only live for six weeks during the summer months. Sometimes a little heat from the sun or a drop of sugar water is all that is required to fly back to the colony.
